Westlers was first established in 1960 in Hull by brothers-in-law Alick Burdon-Cooper and Charles Breese.
They purchased Hull-based Ostlers, a company manufacturing canned frankfurters in brine. The business soon grew and moved to its present site in 1963, in Amotherby near Malton in the rolling hills of the North Yorkshire countryside.
Today Westlers, (also known as Malton Foods Ltd T/A Westlers) still occupy the same site, where we continue to remain committed to producing the very best ambient food in both cans and pouches.
Westlers remains a UK’s leading independent food manufacturers producing over 240 different products including ready meals, bean meals and vegetables.
We are able to track and adapt to key issues facing the food industry from the ever-increasing trend towards food on the go and the growth in demand for healthier meal and snacking solutions currently driving the retail, leisure and convenience sectors.
