Westlers staff complete training initiative
More than 70 members of the workforce at Westler Foods Ltd have attained a level 2 NVQ in performing manufacturing operations and management, through the government led initiative, Train to Gain.
Henry Breese, managing director, who has been presented with a certificate recognising the achievements of those who took part, commented: “Being one of the few remaining family run businesses left in our industry, we always aim to treat our staff as an extension of that family. By taking great pride in their achievements, and ensuring that staff developments remains one of our core values, we can continue to improve productivity and competitiveness.”
The NVQ qualifications were earned over a period of 4 months, and were carried out on location at Westlers’ home in North Yorkshire by Talent Training.
Westlers is home to the nations best loved hot dog, and an extensive portfolio of quality convenience foods. One of the few remaining family run businesses within the food industry, Westlers has called the rolling hills of North Yorkshire home for well over 40 years. |
